On October 22, 2020, President Donald Trump stated that he has done more for black people than President Abraham Lincoln. While he was touting how much he supports Historically Black Colleges and Universities, executive order #13950 issued on Sep 20, 2020 says otherwise. This order sets requirements for Federal Grants and, by closer examination this order would make ALL funding for HBCU institutions illegal.
A recent poll of Alabama State University alumni and, HBCU supporters shows that we do not believe anything that President Trump is saying regarding HBCU institutions or, education for that matter. From the incompetent response to the Coronavirus, the blatant attempt of voter suppression and, his coordinated attack on voting rights, his support of education is a fraud and he must pay for it with a vote of no-confidence.
Has anybody seen any attempt from this president to ‘restart football’ at Historically Black Colleges? This president is promoting polices like ‘herd immunity’ to fight the Coronavirus that will result in the death of more citizens. Education Secretary Betsy DeVos has been the worst thing for education in America. Her blatant mismanagement of funds have damaged K-12 public education and neighborhoods throughout the nation.
The funding that he is touting is a renewal of existing funds that was stopped by the US Senate and their allies in the US House of Representatives. If Trump is re-elected he will push polices that will eliminate these institutions by defunding them like the attempt in the 1970’s. Fortunately there were lawsuits brought by people like Alabama State Rep John Knight that stopped this racist policy in it’s tracks.
The truth is that President Trump and, his friends do not give one ounce of a damn about black colleges. If you need more proof, just look at the number of people who are sick or dying from Corona-virus. This plan of redirecting funds to duplicate programs at HBCU’s in order to shut them down must be stopped at the ballot box. Therefore, you must use your vote to fire Donald Trump and his clown-show of 50Cent, Kanye West and other blacks to hold the others back on or before November 3rd.

Executive order #13950 reads as follows:
Sec. 5. Requirements for Federal Grants. The heads of all agencies shall review their respective grant programs and identify programs for which the agency may, as a condition of receiving such a grant, require the recipient to certify that it will not use Federal funds to promote the concepts that
(a) one race or sex is inherently superior to another race or sex;
(b) an individual, by virtue of his or her race or sex, is inherently racist, sexist, or oppressive, whether consciously or unconsciously;
(c) an individual should be discriminated against or receive adverse treatment solely or partly because of his or her race or sex;
(d) members of one race or sex cannot and should not attempt to treat others without respect to race or sex;
(e) an individual’s moral character is necessarily determined by his or her race or sex;
(f) an individual, by virtue of his or her race or sex, bears responsibility for actions committed in the past by other members of the same race or sex;
(g) any individual should feel discomfort, guilt, anguish, or any other form of psychological distress on account of his or her race or sex; or
(h) meritocracy or traits such as a hard work ethic are racist or sexist, or were created by a particular race to oppress another race.
Within 60 days of the date of this order, the heads of agencies shall each submit a report to the Director of the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) that lists all grant programs so identified.
